How to create a professional email account in cPanel

Create an address at your domain and understand the DNS records needed for delivery.

Quick answer

Create an address at your domain and understand the DNS records needed for delivery.

Start with the checks below. Each step explains what to look for and what to try next.

Check that email hosting is included

Not all plans enable cPanel mailboxes. Google Workspace accounts are managed through Google’s administration tools, not created as ordinary cPanel mailboxes.

Create a mailbox

  1. Open cPanel and select Email Accounts, if enabled.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Choose your domain and enter the mailbox name, such as hello.
  4. Set a strong password or use the supported password setup option.
  5. Save, then open Check Email or the configured webmail link to test.

Send and receive reliably

Check MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records at the authoritative DNS provider. Wrong MX records can prevent incoming mail; missing authentication records can affect deliverability.

Common confusion

If you have Google Workspace, do not point MX records to cPanel just because your website is hosted there. Website hosting and email hosting can use different providers.

Guidance may vary by plan, control panel version and enabled features. Review the settings available to your account before changing live services.
